CP3 out indefinitely after entering health and safety protocols
The Phoenix Suns announced Wednesday that All-Star guard Chris Paul entered the NBA's health and safety protocols, and an update on his status will be provided Saturday, according to ESPN's Tim Bontemps.
It's unclear if Paul will miss the start of the Western Conference finals, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.
Previous incidents required players to spend 10-14 days in quarantine, but an isolation period could be shorter for a vaccinated individual, adds Charania.
It's unknown whether Paul tested positive for COVID-19 or if he was in close contact with an individual who contracted the virus.
Cameron Payne will likely start in the future Hall of Famer's place if he isn't cleared to play.
Paul is coming off an outstanding performance in the West semis, averaging 25.5 points, 10.3 assists, five boards, and 1.5 steals in the Suns' sweep of the Denver Nuggets.
