Tyler Herro may not be a member of the Milwaukee Bucks for long.
Milwaukee plans to listen to offers for Herro after reportedly acquiring the one-time All-Star in a Monday blockbuster that will send Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Miami Heat, sources told The Athletic's Sam Amick and Eric Nehm.
Herro, who grew up in Milwaukee, is believed to be the centerpiece of the Bucks' return. Miami is also reportedly parting with Kel'el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr., and Kasparas Jakucionis, as well as significant draft compensation, to acquire Antetokounmpo and Bobby Portis.
The reported agreement could yet expand to include other teams, as it can't be made official until July 6. The Detroit Pistons are one of many sides that have interest in acquiring Herro, according to Amick and Nehm.
The Bucks are reportedly open to including the hometown guard in their future plans. However, the 2021-22 Sixth Man of the Year has just one year remaining on his contract and is on course to become an unrestricted free agent next summer.
After going 13th overall in the 2019 draft, Herro spent seven seasons in South Beach. Over 394 career appearances, including 245 starts, he's registered 19.5 points, five rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game while shooting 45% from the floor, 38.2% from deep, and 87.8% from the free-throw line.
Herro played just 33 games last season, however, due to multiple injuries. He missed the first month of the campaign while recovering from offseason surgery on his left foot and ankle, and Miami then ruled him out for 11 straight games in mid-December with a toe contusion. A rib issue later sidelined him for 15 matchups between January and February.
