Jarren Duran's days with the Boston Red Sox could be numbered.
The Red Sox are willing to move the outfielder before Monday's trade deadline despite being clear buyers, sources told Julian McWilliams of CBS Sports.
The reported development comes after Duran had another emotional outburst Thursday during a 5-4 win over the Athletics.
The 29-year-old screamed and gestured toward teammate Willson Contreras and interim third base coach Chad Epperson after a failed sacrifice fly in the sixth inning. All parties downplayed the incident postgame.
However, Duran's frustration was directed at the duo, specifically Epperson, a source told McWilliams.
Duran has also had several altercations with fans over the years. He was suspended for two games in 2024 after directing a homophobic slur at a spectator.
The 2024 All-Star is having the worst full season of his six-year career, slashing .195/.252/.337 with 13 home runs, 54 RBIs, and 15 stolen bases over 101 games. Duran authored a 131 wRC+ with 6.8 fWAR en route to finishing eighth in AL MVP voting two years ago.
