The Seattle Seahawks are signing free-agent running back Joe Mixon, a source told NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.

Mixon reportedly worked out for Seattle on Monday. His signing comes after the Seahawks placed first-round rookie Jadarian Price on injured reserve on Saturday.

The 30-year-old sat out all of last season and hasn't played in an NFL game since the 2024 campaign because of an offseason foot injury.

It was unclear whether Mixon would ever return to the NFL, but he posted a video on social media over the weekend showing him working out.

Mixon last played for the Houston Texans in 2024 after being traded by the Cincinnati Bengals. He totaled 1,325 scrimmage yards and 12 touchdowns that year, earning his second career Pro Bowl nomination.

Mixon has played in 111 games since entering the league as a second-round pick in 2017, recording 7,420 rushing yards and 60 scores.

Emanuel Wilson led the Seahawks in carries on Sunday with 21, while George Holani posted seven rushing attempts. Holani was listed as a limited participant throughout the week with a rib injury heading into Week 4.

Zach Charbonnet, who started the season on injured reserve, has returned to practice but won't be activated for Sunday's contest against the San Francisco 49ers.
