The NFL confirmed Monday that it suspended two officials for unprofessional conduct that occurred during a pair of games Sunday.
Line judge Jeff Seeman was banned two games, and referee Adrian Hill will be sidelined for one contest following separate instances of "unprofessional conduct toward a player," according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Seeman was caught on camera swearing at Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride during Sunday's game against the New York Giants, while Hill was disciplined for yelling in the face of Minnesota Vikings linebacker Eric Wilson during a matchup versus the Miami Dolphins.
Seeman's actions, in particular, drew the ire of the players' association's executive director, JC Tretter.
"This kind of behavior from an official toward a player is unacceptable," Tretter wrote in a social media post, per The Associated Press. "Players are consistently held accountable when the roles are reversed. We expect the NFL to hold officials to the same standard."
Hill, meanwhile, got in Wilson's face after being knocked to the ground by the defender, though Wilson appeared to be pushed into Hill by Dolphins running back Ollie Gordon.
Wilson dismissed the interaction after the game.
"That was funny, honestly," Wilson said, according to Pro Football Talk's Michael David Smith. "I ended up apologizing to him and explained the situation. He was cool about it. He understood what was going on. He just said he didn't want us fighting - me and (Gordon). He said he was just trying to break us up."
NFL vice president of officiating Ramon George handed down both punishments.
