Ultimately, when we fall short of our goals, that responsibility lies on my shoulders."</p><p>The move comes two days after the Eagles lost 23-19 to the San Francisco 49ers in the wild-card round. Philly's offense gained just 23 yards on its first four drives of the second half, allowing San Francisco to take control. The Eagles drove down into 49ers territory with under a minute remaining but were stopped on fourth-and-11.</p><p>Philadelphia's offense took a significant step back in 2025. After ranking fifth in points per game during its Super Bowl-winning season, Patullo's unit finished 24th in yards per contest and 23rd in success rate, according to <a href="https://rbsdm.com/stats/stats/">Ben Baldwin's database</a>. The Eagles also struggled to maintain drives and had an abundance of negative plays, ranking first in the NFL in three-and-out rate.</p><p>One of the main problems with Philly's offense was its predictability. Patullo, after serving as the Eagles' pass game coordinator for four seasons, ran an offense this past campaign that posted the highest hitch-route rate (23.5%) since at least 2012, when route-frequency tracking began, according to TruMedia.</p><p>The Eagles' rushing attack also wasn't nearly as productive. <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nfl/players/99272" href="https://thescore.com/nfl/players/99272">Saquon Barkley</a>, who led the league with 2,009 rushing yards in 2024, finished with 1,140 yards in 2025, averaging 4.1 yards per carry.</p><p>Philadelphia's issues piled up despite boasting the NFL's most expensive offense, according to <a href="https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/position/offense/_/year/2025/sort/cash_total">Spotrac</a>. He previously worked under Harbaugh at Stanford and with the San Francisco 49ers from 2011-14.</p><p>The move comes two days after Los Angeles' 16-3 wild-card loss to the New England Patriots. The Chargers gained 207 yards of offense, 45 of them on their final drive when the game was out of reach.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>Quarterback <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nfl/players/104207" href="https://thescore.com/nfl/players/104207">Justin Herbert</a> was swarmed by the Patriots' defense all game, getting sacked six times while throwing for 155 yards with one turnover. Leavitt led Arizona State to the College Football Playoff in 2024 and has accumulated 4,652 career passing yards and 36 touchdowns during his career.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>He represents new LSU head coach Lane Kiffin's first big win on the recruiting trail. He was a five-star recruit in the 2024 class and the highest-ranked pocket passer on <a href="https://www.espn.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/rankings/scnext300boys/_/class/2024/order/true">ESPN's 300</a>. </p><p>The 20-year-old's 2025 season ended in early November after he suffered a broken fibula in a loss to USC.
