The New York Giants are releasing veteran wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., sources told NFL Network's Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport.
Beckham returned to the NFL after not playing last season, earning a spot on the Giants' 53-man roster. He's not expected to return to New York's practice squad, and the hope is that he'll find another opportunity elsewhere, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz.
The 33-year-old recorded just one target and zero catches through three games this season. He also ran just 12 routes, the eighth most on the Giants, according to TruMedia.
In New York's Week 3 victory over the Tennessee Titans, Beckham ran four routes and played only 9.4% of the team's offensive snaps.
Beckham caught five passes for 70 yards in the preseason to help secure a roster spot. He was signed in June after a workout with the Giants and reunited with head coach John Harbaugh, whom he played under with the Ravens in 2023.
The three-time Pro Bowler joined the Miami Dolphins in 2024 but was released in December after both sides agreed to part ways. Beckham sat out the entire 2025 campaign and was suspended for the first six games of the year for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing drugs.
Beckham also spent time with the Cleveland Browns and Los Angeles Rams after the Giants drafted him with the 12th overall pick in 2014. He helped the Rams win the Lombardi Trophy during the 2021 season and caught a 17-yard touchdown reception in Super Bowl LVI against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Beckham started his career with the Giants, posting three straight 1,300-plus-yard receiving seasons and winning Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2014. He has 575 receptions for 7,897 yards with 59 touchdowns in 122 career games.
