New Orleans Saints head coach Kellen Moore said Monday that running back Travis Etienne Jr. is expected to miss time with a hamstring injury.
Moore didn't share how long the team expects Etienne to be sidelined or if he'll be placed on injured reserve.
The 27-year-old exited during the third quarter of Sunday's 35-27 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders and didn't return. Etienne clutched his left leg on the ground following a 16-yard run.
The Clemson product then limped to the medical tent before going to the locker room. He rushed for 57 yards on 19 carries before the injury.
Etienne entered Sunday's matchup with a hamstring issue but wasn't given an injury designation. Moore confirmed that the injury occurred on the same leg that had bothered him leading up to the game.
The Saints signed Etienne to a four-year, $47.4-million contract in March, per Spotrac. The 2021 first-round pick spent the previous five seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He leads New Orleans in rushing this season with 128 yards while averaging 4.3 yards per carry.
Alvin Kamara and Kendre Miller are expected to split carries with Etienne sidelined. Rookie CJ Donaldson could also see more snaps during the Saints' next game against the Atlanta Falcons on Monday Night Football.
