The application also reportedly states that Gervin first used the moniker in commerce in 1979.</p><p>Jerald Barisano, president and CEO of Gervin Global Management, said he mistakenly believed Gervin's nickname was already trademarked, blaming the confusion on the death of a business associate.</p><p>"All they've got to do is do one Google search, and they'll see hundreds and hundreds of articles on the 'Iceman,' George Gervin," Barisano said, per Finley.</p><p>A decision regarding each trademark application is expected to take months before they're process by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Gervin and Barisano reportedly intend to contest the trademark if it's granted to Williams.</p>

Cleveland also believes the rule change will encourage a more active trade market and promote creative trade structures that reflect the value of both the draft picks and players.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>Meanwhile, the Pittsburgh Steelers are advocating for the permanent adoption of a rule implemented during the 2025 season that allows teams to conduct one video or phone call with up to five prospective unrestricted free agents during the two-day negotiation period before free agency. For every artifact that's been donated, we have a paper trail and signed paperwork of where it's come from."</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>While the Hockey Hall of Fame can request items connected to NHL milestones and events, players and teams aren't obligated to donate them. "We've insured it, we've preserved it, we conserved everything. Ultimately, it doesn't matter. I am where I'm supposed to be," Crosby said on the latest episode of his podcast, "The Rush."</p><p>Crosby also described last week as a "whirlwind" after the Ravens withdrew from a trade over reported knee concerns.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>The relationship between Crosby and the Raiders had apparently soured late last campaign, when the team shut him down against his wishes with two games left in the regular season for surgery on his injured knee.</p><p>Crosby shared that the Ravens flew him first-class to Washington, DC, on March 9 - three days after the reported trade - because there were no direct flights to Baltimore. He added that he underwent a physical and an MRI the following day but didn't speak with Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta until he was about to leave.</p><p>"I thought I was going to see (DeCosta) when I first got there," Crosby said, according to <a href="https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/48234425/raiders-crosby-nixed-trade-where-supposed-be">ESPN's Ryan McFadden</a>. "I don't know why. I'm not going to speculate. He just made the trade, and I didn't see him for five hours."</p><p>Crosby also said that he sensed that the energy felt off inside the Ravens' facility. He added that he was terrified when DeCosta informed him that a team doctor had concerns about his surgically repaired knee and wanted additional medical opinions.</p><p>The five-time Pro Bowler said he returned to his hotel room and spoke with his agents, CJ LaBoy and Doug Hendrickson, who believed Baltimore might cancel the trade. Crosby said he later spoke with a member of the Ravens' staff, who told him the team still planned to get the deal done.</p><p>Shortly after talking with the Ravens staffer, Crosby said one of his agents told him that Baltimore called off the trade.</p><p>"I'm like 'Holy shit,'" Crosby said. "I told (LaBoy), 'I'm trying to get out of here.'"</p><p>DeCosta recently said the decision to rescind the deal left him "<a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///news/3497565" href="https://thescore.com/news/3497565">gutted</a>."</p><p>"I've got a responsibility to the Ravens, to this community, to our fans, and to (team owner) Steve Bisciotti to do what we think is best for the club. And that's what we always try to do," DeCosta said.</p><p>Crosby's surgeon, Dr. Neal ElAttrache, said the veteran defender is doing well in the early part of surgery following a significant meniscus tear and related stress injury to the bone and cartilage in his knee. The menacing pass-rusher is expected to be ready for training camp in July.</p><p>Despite releasing an emotional goodbye video to Raiders nation, Crosby said he's ready for an eighth campaign with Las Vegas.</p><p>"I'm here. He surpassed 1,000 scrimmage yards in 2023 and 2024. <p>The Green Bay Packers are signing defensive tackle <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nfl/players/68677" href="https://thescore.com/nfl/players/68677">Javon Hargrave</a> to a two-year, $23-million contract, his agent told <a href="https://x.com/AdamSchefter/status/2031837374481641653?s=20">ESPN's Adam Schefter</a>.</p><p>Hargrave's deal includes $13 million guaranteed. </p><p>The two-time Pro Bowl defender was officially released by the Minnesota Vikings on Wednesday at the start of the new league year.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>Hargrave signed a two-year, $30-million deal with Minnesota as a free agent last year after a torn triceps limited him to three games with the San Francisco 49ers in 2024.</p><p>The 33-year-old started 15 games for the Vikings, racking up four tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks.</p><p>The Vikings created $10.95 million in salary cap space by moving on from the the veteran after one season, per <a href="https://x.com/spotrac/status/2028154610725085310?s=20">Spotrac's Michael Ginnitti</a>.</p><p>Hargrave joins his fifth NFL franchise after entering the NFL as a third-round pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2016.
