Seattle Seahawks defensive back Nick Emmanwori is expected to be good to go for Week 1 after having right ankle surgery, sources told ESPN's Brady Henderson.
Emmanwori was placed on the physically unable to perform list to open training camp earlier this week.
The second-year pro battled ankle injuries throughout his rookie season, including a low sprain suffered during practice in the lead-up to the franchise's Super Bowl LX victory over the New England Patriots.
Emmanwori, who participated in offseason workouts earlier this year, opted for arthroscopic surgery after experiencing continued soreness as he prepared for training camp, Henderson adds. The Seahawks were reportedly aware that he might require a procedure.
A second-round pick in 2025, Emmanwori recorded 81 tackles during his rookie season, third most on the team. He also posted 11 pass breakups, one interception, 2.5 sacks, and nine tackles for a loss.
The Seahawks begin their title defense with a Super Bowl LX rematch against the Patriots in Week 1.
