Lionel Messi and Argentina set the sports world ablaze with a memorable 3-2 comeback win over Egypt in the round of 16 at the World Cup on Tuesday.

The reigning World Cup champion faced a 2-0 deficit until late in the second half before scoring three goals in a span of just over 13 minutes. Messi came up clutch once again, providing an assist and the equalizing goal.

The game took place at the same stadium where the NFL's Atlanta Falcons play, and memes about Egypt choking away the victory instantly went viral.

Legendary quarterback Tom Brady joined the party, tweeting that Egypt blowing its late lead might have topped the Falcons' collapse in Super Bowl LI. Brady's New England Patriots won that championship in overtime after trailing 28-3 during the third quarter.

Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Brunson were among the other sports stars who reacted to Messi and Argentina's triumph on social media.
