Nine of Washington's 14 victories this season were one-score contests, including the playoffs. Eleven of K.C.'s 16 victories met that criteria. These teams have played each other 11 times ever, and Washington won just once (1983).</p><p>The Chiefs would also see familiar faces. Two linemen who won multiple titles with Mahomes - right tackle Andrew Wylie and left guard Nick Allegretti - are now starters in Washington.</p><h3>2) Eagles vs. Bills</h3><p>Philadelphia and Buffalo had strong regular seasons that ultimately weren't enough to claim the No. 1 seed in their respective conferences. They're both led by mobile signal-callers who have scored <em>a lot</em> of touchdowns. Jalen Hurts' 52 rushing TDs rank first in the NFL among quarterbacks since 2021, while Allen's 40 place second. They faced off in November 2023 and fans watched a thrilling Eagles overtime win with both QBs combining for nine touchdowns. Buffalo, meanwhile, placed third in rushing EPA.</p><p>This meeting would also be extra special for McDermott, who grew up in the Philadelphia suburbs and spent 10 seasons with the Eagles as part of Andy Reid's coaching staff before becoming the Carolina Panthers' defensive coordinator and later the Bills' head coach, a position he's held since 2017.</p><h3>1) Eagles vs. Chiefs</h3><p>A Super Bowl rematch is always intriguing, especially if it happens just two years after the original matchup. The Chiefs defeated the Eagles in a thrilling 38-35 clash in February 2023 in which Mahomes and Hurts put on a show, combining for seven total touchdowns with no interceptions. Mahomes' legend grew that night with yet another clutch, game-winning drive, while Hurts' performance is often remembered as one of the best outings from the losing QB in Super Bowl history.</p><p>Retired Eagles legend Jason Kelce won't play this year, sure, but the likes of Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Reid, Hurts, and Nick Sirianni, among others, are still around. Philadelphia coach Sirianni was also a Kansas City assistant between 2009-12.</p><p>Could Philly get revenge after a heartbreaking loss two years ago? Would Reid make more history against the Eagles? Will Mahomes and Hurts replicate their iconic performances? There's a lot to like about this rematch. Oh, and Carson Wentz, who helped the Eagles win their first-ever Super Bowl seven years ago, is now Mahomes' backup in Kansas City.</p>

I don't root for many other teams, but I'm rooting for my boy. I'm rooting for the Commanders."</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>Stroud took the NFL by storm last season and set multiple records, including the most passing yards in a single game by a rookie (470). The Ohio State product also joined Tom Brady and Joe Montana as the only players ever to lead the league in passing yards per contest (273.9) and touchdown/interception ratio (4.6) in the same season.</p><p>Not only did Stroud run away with the Offensive Rookie of the Year award, but he also helped the Texans reach the divisional round just a year after they won three games. Houston returned to the playoffs this season but fell short against the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday.</p><p>Daniels is also the face of a remarkable turnaround, as the Commanders are one game away from playing in the Super Bowl one season after finishing with a 4-13 record. His 2024 campaign included a 69% completion rate, as well as 3,568 yards and 25 touchdowns against just nine interceptions. He also rushed for six TDs and 891 yards, a rookie record for a QB.</p><p>Daniels has been just as impressive in the playoffs, having accounted for four touchdowns against no interceptions while completing almost 70% of his passes to help Washington earn upset victories over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and, most recently, the 1-seed Detroit Lions.</p><p>"That boy is going crazy," Stroud added of Daniels. "Not only just from him, but the motivation he's giving to (those) back home where we come from, you have no idea. He's giving kids back home hope that they can do it, too."</p><p>Both Stroud and Daniels entered the NFL as second overall picks after growing up in the San Bernardino area of Southern California, notes <a href="https://www.si.com/nfl/cj-stroud-incredibly-high-praise-commanders-qb-jayden-daniels">Sports Illustrated's Karl Rasmussen</a>.</p><p>The Commanders play the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday in the NFC title game. Again.</p><p>The Houston Texans waived the veteran wide receiver Tuesday, the team announced.</p><p>"Unfortunately, it didn't work out," Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans said, according to <a href="https://x.com/AaronWilson_NFL/status/1879276887912202268">Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston</a>.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>Johnson joined the team Dec. 23 and made only two appearances, including Saturday's wild-card win over the Los Angeles Chargers. The 28-year-old caught one pass for 12 yards to help Houston advance to the divisional round against the Kansas City Chiefs.</p><p>If Johnson signs elsewhere, it'll be his fifth different team within a year.</p><p>After playing his first five seasons for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Johnson was traded to the Carolina Panthers during the 2024 offseason. His stint with the Panthers lasted only seven games before Carolina dealt him to the Baltimore Ravens. The former Pro Bowler was expected to make Baltimore's offense even more dangerous, but he caught just one pass in four appearances.</p><p>The Ravens waived Johnson on Dec. 20 after suspending him for one game because he refused to enter a contest versus the Philadelphia Eagles earlier that month. Houston then claimed him off waivers after losing wide receiver <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nfl/players/188130" href="https://thescore.com/nfl/players/188130">Tank Dell</a> to a season-ending knee injury. The Los Angeles Chargers reportedly also tried to add Johnson.</p><p>Johnson had a promising start to his NFL career after being drafted in the third round in 2019. He posted 1,161 yards and eight touchdowns on 107 receptions in 2021 and averaged 873 yards to go along with five TDs per season with the Steelers.</p>

Led by a strong defense, the Texans took down the Los Angeles Chargers on Saturday to advance past the wild-card round for the second consecutive year with quarterback <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nfl/players/188132" href="https://thescore.com/nfl/players/188132">C.J. Stroud</a>.</p><p>In the NFC, the Detroit Lions will play host to the Washington Commanders, who continued their special season with rookie quarterback <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nfl/players/199756" href="https://thescore.com/nfl/players/199756">Jayden Daniels</a> by upsetting the Tampa Buccaneers on the road. It's Washington's first playoff win since the 2005 campaign.</p><p>Finally, the Philadelphia Eagles will host the the Rams. Philly defeated Los Angeles in November by scoring 37 points, its second-best mark this season. </p><p>The NFL also announced its full schedule for the conference title games, which will take place Jan. 26. The NFC championship is scheduled for 3 p.m. that day on Fox, while the AFC title matchup is set for 6:30 p.m. on CBS.</p>

Holm is already a member of the Boxing International Hall of Fame after capturing in-ring titles in three weight classes before joining the UFC in 2015.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>Holm exits the UFC with an 8-7 (1 NC) record that included a spectacular knockout win over former champion Ronda Rousey at UFC 193 in 2015. Holm was a contender in both the bantamweight and featherweight divisions for most of her career but didn't capture the belt again after losing it to Miesha Tate in 2016.</p><p>Holm most recently lost to Kayla Harrison by submission at UFC 300 in April 2024. "Bellator as we know it is no more. Bellator is dead. You will not see Bellator events anymore."</p><p>The reported new titles will be separate from PFL's traditional season tournament format, which crowns six divisional champions throughout four fights in one calendar year.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>"This is the structure: There are going to be what is being referred to as, 'PFL Champions Series events'," Helwani added. "Those events are going to be headlined by title fights. PFL is going to start having its own champions, not just season champions, not just tournament champions. The two sides <a href="https://x.com/TomPelissero/status/1878850861742653582">reportedly</a> had positive discussions last week but failed to reach an agreement.</p><p>"Over the past week, Mike and I had the opportunity to conduct a joint review of all aspects of the past season, our players and staff, and also spent considerable time discussing the road forward for the team," Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said in a statement Monday. "These discussions were thorough and received an appropriate amount of time and depth to cover. Given that the Cowboys won't interview members of the Detroit Lions or Kansas City Chiefs coaching staffs prior to Monday evening, Dallas would have to wait until the conclusion of those teams' playoff runs. Detroit has arguably the cycle's hottest candidate in offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, who's had four head coaching interviews. Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn and Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo have also generated interest.</p><p>The Las Vegas Raiders, Jacksonville Jaguars, and New York Jets are also looking for a new boss. The Patriots recently hired head coach Mike Vrabel to replace Jerod Mayo.</p>

Brown and Hurts have addressed the situation multiple times, saying they have no issues.</p><p>Brown scored a touchdown in each of his last three regular-season games before the Eagles decided to rest most of their starters in Week 18.</p><p>The star wideout - who earned his third consecutive second-team All-Pro berth this year - battled a knee injury this week but was able to play in Sunday's win.</p><p>"Felt really good. Moved around really good.
