Los Angeles Chargers pass-rusher Khalil Mack has elected to return for the 2025 season after previously mulling retirement, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Mack is scheduled to become a free agent this offseason.

The soon-to-be 34-year-old said after the Chargers were eliminated in the wild-card round that he was going to take time and ponder whether to continue his playing career.

Mack has spent the past three seasons with the Chargers, registering 31 sacks. Seventeen of those sacks came during the 2023 season. He's made the Pro Bowl in each of his three years in Los Angeles.

A top-five pick in the 2014 draft, Mack has also spent time with the then Oakland Raiders and Chicago Bears. He has nine Pro Bowl nods and has totaled 107.5 sacks and 32 forced fumbles. He was named Defensive Player of the Year in 2016.
