Pittsburgh Pirates star rookie shortstop Konnor Griffin has a torn tendon in his left ring finger, sources told Jeff Passan of ESPN.

Griffin could play through the injury but will most likely decide to rehab it, which would sideline him for at least a month, Passan reports.

The 20-year-old phenom had his finger examined after making the first of two diving catches during Sunday's 11-5 win over the Washington Nationals.

Griffin has recorded five homers with 25 RBIs, 20 stolen bases, and a .736 OPS over 59 games this season.
