The Cincinnati Reds placed right-handed closer Raisel Iglesias on the 10-day disabled list Wednesday with a left biceps strain.
Iglesias last appeared in a game Saturday, May 19, when he blew a save opportunity against the Chicago Cubs in the first half of a doubleheader. The move to the DL is retroactive to May 20.
The blown save inflated his otherwise sterling numbers on the campaign. The 29-year-old has a 2.08 ERA and 0.923 WHIP with eight saves and 27 strikeouts over 21 2/3 innings of work.
The Reds also activated right-hander Michael Lorenzen from the DL. Lorenzen, alongside relievers Amir Garrett, Jared Hughes, and David Hernandez, could be in line for saves during Iglesias' absence.
