Chicago Blackhawks forward Connor Bedard will miss about four months after undergoing left shoulder surgery Wednesday, the team announced.
Bedard was injured during an on-ice training session last Thursday.

Barring an early return, Bedard will miss the start of the 2026-27 campaign. If he returns in exactly four months, he'll likely miss 15-20 games.
The 20-year-old phenom tallied a career-high 75 points in 69 contests last season. Bedard was playing at a 116-point pace before suffering a right shoulder injury in December that kept him out of the lineup for 12 games and squashed his chances of making Canada's Olympic team.
The 2023 No. 1 pick has led the Blackhawks in scoring in each of his three NHL seasons.
Bedard remains a restricted free agent.
Fellow centers Frank Nazar, Oliver Moore, and Ryan Donato all project to see increased minutes to begin the season in Bedard's absence. The Blackhawks haven't made any significant trades or free-agent signings to bolster their forward group this offseason.
