Calgary acquired the No. 2 pick from the 2022 draft in a trade with the New Jersey Devils on June 23. The package the Flames sent in exchange included first-round selections in 2027 and 2028, which they acquired in the Rasmus Andersson and Nazem Kadri trades.
Nemec, who reportedly asked the Devils to move him, tallied a career-high 26 points (11 goals, 15 assists) in 68 games last season.
The 22-year-old Slovak has scored 16 goals to go along with 33 points and a minus-28 rating in 155 contests across three seasons. Nemec averaged 19:40 of ice time per game in 2025-26.
