Two-time Stanley Cup champion Tyler Johnson announced his retirement Monday following a 13-year NHL career.

Johnson helped the Tampa Bay Lightning win back-to-back Cups in 2020 and 2021. He also guided them to the final in 2015, where he led the postseason with 13 goals and tied for the playoff lead with 23 points that spring.

His best season came in 2014-15 when, at 24 years old, he racked up 29 goals with a career-high 72 points in 77 games while anchoring Tampa Bay's "Triplets" line with Nikita Kucherov and Ondrej Palat.

Johnson, a 5-foot-9 center, tallied 193 goals and 433 points in 747 career NHL games. Following his nine-year stint with the Lightning, he played three seasons with the Chicago Blackhawks and nine games with the Boston Bruins in 2024-25 before he was cut.

The Lightning signed Johnson as an undrafted free agent out of the WHL following a standout junior career with his hometown Spokane Chiefs, including a Memorial Cup win in 2008. He also won gold at the 2010 World Junior Championship with the United States and a 2012 Calder Cup with the AHL's Norfolk Admirals.
