Los Angeles Rams edge rusher Myles Garrett will return Sunday against the Washington Commanders after missing seven games.

Garrett didn't have a designation on Friday's injury report, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Head coach Sean McVay told reporters earlier Friday that Garrett was on track to play, according to team website writer Stu Jackson.

Tight end Terrance Ferguson, who's been sidelined for the last five games with an ankle injury, will also return.

Garrett has been sidelined for the majority of the season so far due to a knee injury. He underwent arthroscopic knee surgery shortly after returning from Melbourne, Australia, where the Rams lost to the San Francisco 49ers in their season opener.

L.A. later placed the star pass-rusher on injured reserve. Garrett returned to practice Wednesday as a limited participant, marking his first time on the field since the injury.

"I want to be careful to (not) even set any sort of expectations," head coach Sean McVay said Monday about Garrett potentially returning this weekend. "I think just taking it a day at a time is going to be the best way that we can approach it.

"I think that's the right thing for him, and really just to see how he responds. But I think it's a real positive that we're starting his clock."

Garrett played in just over 61% of the defensive snaps in his only contest this season and recorded no defensive statistics. Los Angeles acquired Garrett from the Cleveland Browns in a blockbuster offseason deal that included Jared Verse and a 2027 first-round pick.

The Rams rank 26th in sacks and 28th in quarterback hits this season, according to TruMedia. Aaron Donald, who came out of retirement partly to play with Garrett, has yet to suit up alongside him after sitting out the season opener.

Los Angeles (4-4) has won back-to-back games after starting the year 2-4.
