The Houston Texans and receiver Nico Collins agreed to terms on an adjusted contract Tuesday that guarantees his salary over the next two seasons, his agents told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The revised agreement includes cash increases of $9 million this year and $8 million in 2027. Collins, 27, will have the opportunity to become a free agent in 2028.
Texans general manager Nick Caserio has been adamant that Houston wouldn't make Collins available on the trade market. Teams reportedly called about the star wideout's availability in April because of his contract, according ESPN's DJ Bien-Aime.
Collins was the 18th-highest paid wideout before reworking his deal, earning $24.25 million per season, according to Over the Cap. The Michigan product told teammates that he was underpaid, per Bien-Aime.
Collins signed a three-year, $72.75-million extension with the Texans in May 2024.
A two-time Pro Bowler, Collins is 10th among receivers with 2,123 yards and fourth in receiving yards per game at 78.4 since 2024.
