New Orleans Saints right tackle Ryan Ramczyk announced his retirement from the NFL on Thursday.

"My path to the NFL wasn't a straight line, it wasn't the story most people expect," the 30-year-old wrote. "There were moments when people doubted me, moments when I doubted myself. It's funny how life works out. Sometimes the road less traveled leads to places you never expected, but it ends up being exactly where you were meant to be.

"Today, I reflect on all the twists and turns that got me to this point, from technical college to become a 'welder' to All-Pro in the NFL. As I step into retirement, I'm filled with gratitude for everything this sport has given me."

Ramczyk's announcement comes after he missed the entire 2024 season due to knee issues. He was placed on injured reserve in December 2023 due to a cartilage defect in his knee caused by wear and tear.

Ramczyk - a first-round pick in 2017 - started 101 games across seven NFL seasons and established himself as one of the league's most reliable right tackles. He earned three All-Pro berths, including one first-team selection.

The Wisconsin product was part of an impressive Saints draft class, which also included corner Marshon Lattimore, running back Alvin Kamara, and pass-rusher Trey Hendrickson, among others.

The NFL announced Thursday that Ramczyk will be in Green Bay next week to announce New Orleans' Day 2 picks during the 2025 NFL Draft.
