Hurts expects to wear knee brace vs. Commanders
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts says he'll likely wear a knee brace for Sunday's NFC Championship Game against the Washington Commanders, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.
Hurts suffered a knee injury on a sack during the third quarter of the Eagles' divisional-round win over the Los Angeles Rams, though he returned to the field to finish the contest. He said postgame he was confident that he wouldn't miss the conference title game.
Hurts added Friday that his knee has "been progressing."
Head coach Nick Sirianni also seemed optimistic when asked about Hurts' mobility for Sunday's matchup.
"I think he's had a good week of practice," Sirianni said. "I think he's done some really good things all week. Yeah, we'll see."
Hurts was a full participant in practice Friday and Thursday after being limited Wednesday. He was not listed on the final injury report for Sunday's game.
Hurts has thrown for 259 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions through two playoff games this year, but he's been sacked nine times - seven of which came against the Rams last week.
Running back Saquon Barkley has done most of the heavy lifting for the Eagles' offense this postseason. Barkley - who eclipsed 2,000 yards in the regular season - put up 205 yards on the ground against the Rams. He also rushed for 119 yards in the team's wild-card win over the Green Bay Packers.
The NFC Championship Game is slated to kick off at 3 p.m. ET on Sunday.
