The Pittsburgh Steelers signed veteran pass-rusher Markus Golden to a one-year deal, the team announced Wednesday.

Golden, 32, racked up 2.5 sacks with the Arizona Cardinals last year, down from 11 in 2021. Arizona released him in March to save $3 million in cap space.

The Steelers hosted Golden on a free-agent visit prior to their agreement.

The 32-year-old provides quality depth behind the likes of T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith. Before the addition of Golden, Pittsburgh's outside linebacker corps featured the likes of Quincy Roche and Nick Herbig, among others.

A former second-round pick, Golden has produced double-digit sacks in three of his eight NFL seasons. He's totaled 47 sacks and 11 forced fumbles over 68 starts.
