5-star OL Maxwell Hiller commits to Florida
Florida made a splash on the recruiting trail Wednesday by securing a commitment from five-star offensive lineman Maxwell Hiller, he told On3's Hayes Fawcett.
Hiller is the No. 7-ranked recruit and the second-highest-ranked offensive lineman on the 2027 ESPN 300. He chose the Gators over Alabama and Ohio State.
The 6-foot-5, 300-pound offensive lineman becomes the top 2027 recruit for new Florida head coach Jon Sumrall.
"(Sumrall's) one of the best coaches I've talked to," Hiller said, according to 247's Tyler Harden. "Me and him get along. I feel like we have some similar mentalities.
"When I first took my visit to Florida, I came in with a lot of unknowns and seeing everything, and the second visit, I just felt so comfortable. I talked to all the coaches on the phone a ton throughout the weeks. I talked to them every day. ... I just felt so comfortable there."
Hiller, currently at Coatesville High School, is also the highest-ranked recruit in the state of Pennsylvania and is projected to play as an interior offensive lineman at the college level.
