Report: Ex-Florida QB Lagway transferring to Baylor
Former Florida quarterback DJ Lagway is transferring to Baylor, according to On3's Hayes Fawcett.
Lagway entered the portal following the 2025 season after two years in Gainesville. He was a five-star recruit in the 2024 class and the highest-ranked quarterback in ESPN's 300.
The 20-year-old showed promise as a freshman, completing 115 passes for 1,915 yards and 12 touchdowns. He was named Florida's starting quarterback in his sophomore season under Billy Napier. However, Lagway's 2025 season got off to a rocky start after he missed time during spring practices and in training camp due to multiple injuries.
In his first season as the Gators' full-time starter, Lagway led the SEC in interceptions with 14 while throwing for 2,264 passing yards and 16 scores. He announced he intended to enter the portal Dec. 15 following Napier's firing.
Lagway made an official visit to Baylor this week and was spotted at the Bears' men's basketball game Wednesday night alongside head coach Dave Aranda.

Baylor is coming off a 5-7 season in which it ranked 11th in the Big 12. Sawyer Robertson, the Bears' 2025 starting quarterback, is projected to be selected in the 2026 NFL Draft after throwing for 3,681 yards and 31 touchdowns last year.
