Alabama sits atop preseason coaches poll

Alabama enters the 2022-23 season ranked No. 1 in the preseason USA Today AFCA coaches poll released Monday.
The reigning SEC champions received 54 of 66 first-place votes, with Ohio State, Georgia, and Texas splitting the remaining nominations. Clemson and Notre Dame rounded out the top five.
The SEC leads the way with six representatives on the preseason list. The ACC has five members that cracked the rankings, while the Big Ten and Big 12 are tied with four apiece.
