Five-star quarterback Arch Manning has committed to Texas, he announced Thursday.

Arch, the nephew of Peyton and Eli Manning, is the nation's top prospect in 2023. He chose Texas over finalists Georgia and Alabama.

Manning's commitment keeps the family tied to the SEC. Peyton spent his college career at Tennessee before entering the NFL as the first overall pick in 1998. Eli played at Ole Miss en route to going No. 1 in the NFL draft in 2004. Arch is the grandson of Archie Manning and the son of Cooper Manning, who both also went to Ole Miss. Texas is set to leave the Big 12 for the SEC in 2025.

Arch Manning put on a show at Isidore Newman School in New Orleans, tossing 72 touchdowns against 18 interceptions in 27 games over the last three seasons.

He joins a stacked Longhorns quarterback depth chart headlined by former five-star recruit Quinn Ewers, who transferred from Ohio State in December. Texas also rosters 2020 four-star recruit Hudson Card and 2022 four-star passer Maalik Murphy.

Manning's high school coach, Nelson Stewart, said Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian executed a "relentless recruiting effort" for Manning, according to ESPN's Pete Thamel.

"I give so much credit to Steve Sarkisian and for what he's building. He certainly earned this," Stewart said.

Texas hired Sarkisian last year after posting a 32-18 record with Tom Herman on the sideline from 2017 to 2020. The Longhorns, who haven't won a conference title since 2009, went 5-7 in 2021.
