Oklahoma State hands No. 1 Baylor 2nd straight loss
Baylor previously lost to Texas Tech on Tuesday.
After standing as the last remaining unbeaten team in college basketball, the Bears are now the first No. 1 team ever to lose two home games in one week, according to ESPN's Jeff Borzello.
It's also the first time that the program has dropped back-to-back contests since March 2019.
The Bears fell down big early in the contest, trailing by as many as 18 points in the first half. They relied on the long ball in the second frame to get within one point down the stretch but ultimately faltered.
Oklahoma State was led by Bryce Thompson's game-leading 19 points and a stifling team defense that allowed just 10 field goals from 2-point range. The Cowboys also benefited from a strong transition attack, scoring 18 points off 11 Baylor turnovers.
The 9-7 Cowboys will look to maintain their positive momentum on Wednesday at home against TCU, where they'll look to improve to 3-3 in Big 12 play.
Meanwhile, 15-2 Baylor will attempt to get back in the win column on Tuesday at West Virginia.
