Florida State wing and projected lottery pick Scottie Barnes will enter the NBA draft and forgo his remaining college eligibility, he announced on Friday.
Barnes averaged 10.3 points, 4.1 assists, 4.0 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game on 50.3% shooting from the field in his only year with the Seminoles.
Despite not playing the point guard position in high school, Barnes became Florida State's floor general as the season progressed. His assist tally led the team by a wide margin despite the transition.
Barnes, the No. 5 overall prospect on the ESPN 100 in the class of 2020, started only seven of his 24 appearances this season. He still picked up the ACC's Rookie of the Year award.
