Brooklyn Nets head coach Jordi Fernandez said he doesn't expect forward Ben Simmons to play in both contests in back-to-back games until further notice, according to Brian Lewis of the New York Post.

The Nets ruled Simmons out for Tuesday's matchup against the Denver Nuggets due to a back injury, but the 28-year-old will suit up Wednesday versus the Memphis Grizzlies, C.J. Holmes of the New York Daily News reports.

In three contests this season, Simmons has averaged 5.0 points, 5.7 rebounds, 5.7 assists in 24 minutes per game.

Simmons has played 60 contests with Brooklyn since joining the franchise in 2022. The three-time All-Star has dealt with back injuries, undergoing two surgeries with the Nets.

Simmons said earlier in October that it's "disrespectful" when critics claim he's stolen money from the Nets due to his injuries.
