Tucker intends to sign a 10-day contract with the New York Knicks, sources told <a href="https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/44167705/sources-pj-tucker-joining-knicks-10-day-contract">ESPN's Shams Charania</a>.</p><p>The 39-year-old hasn't played since the 2024 playoffs when he was a member of the Los Angeles Clippers. L.A. traded him to the Utah Jazz in February, and he was subsequently flipped to the Toronto Raptors in the five-team trade that sent <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/2809" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/2809">Jimmy Butler</a> to the Golden State Warriors. <p>Dwight Howard will be inducted into the Orlando Magic Hall of Fame on March 24, the team announced Thursday. </p><p>Howard will be honored prior to the Magic's contest against the Los Angeles Lakers later that evening. </p><p>The Magic selected Howard with the first pick in the 2004 NBA Draft. He eventually grew into an eight-time All-Star, with six selections coming in Orlando from 2007-2012. He made All-NBA first team for five straight seasons, including a unanimous selection in 2010.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>Known for his defensive prowess, Howard is the only player in NBA history to win three consecutive Defensive Player of the Year awards, claiming the trophy between 2009-2011. He led the league in blocks in 2009 and 2010.</p><p>The Magic peaked with Howard in 2009, reaching the NBA Finals. Orlando eventually lost to the Lakers in five games. He was traded to L.A. in 2012 after having a public falling-out with the organization.</p><p>Howard ended his Magic tenure as the franchise leader in numerous categories, including points (11,435), rebounds (8,072), blocks (1,344), and minutes played (22,471). He averaged 18.4 points, 13 rebounds, 2.2 blocks, 1.5 assists, and a steal for the franchise across 621 contests.</p><p>Dennis Scott was the last player to be inducted into the team's Hall of Fame in 2023. </p>

Associate Bill Courtney was then named interim bench boss, leading Miami to a 2-16 record after Larranaga's departure.</p><p>The Hurricanes made March Madness six times with Larranaga at the helm, including a Final Four appearance in 2023.</p>

<p>Diana Taurasi, the WNBA's all-time leading scorer, announced her retirement Tuesday. </p><p>Taurasi normally starts preparing for the season Jan. 1, but she told <a href="https://time.com/7261375/diana-taurasi-wnba-retirement-interview/">TIME's Sean Gregory</a> that this year didn't feel the same.</p><p>"I just didn't have it in me," said Taurasi, 42. "That was pretty much when I knew it was time to walk away."</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>In addition to holding the league record in points, Taurasi ends her decorated 20-year career as the leader in 3-pointers and ranks fourth in assists. She holds career averages of 18.8 points, 4.2 assists, and 3.9 rebounds. </p><p>Taurasi spent her entire career with the Phoenix Mercury after being selected first overall in the 2004 WNBA Draft. The one-time MVP won three championships in 2007, 2009, and 2014 and was an All-Star on 11 occasions. She also made 10 All-WNBA first teams and four All-WNBA second teams.</p><p>Representing the United States, she won six Olympic gold medals in women's basketball, first joining the team for the 2004 Athens Games. She wrapped up her tenure with Team USA by winning her sixth gold medal in Paris this past summer. </p><p>"Mentally and physically, I'm just full," Taurasi said. "That's probably the best way I can describe it. I'm full and I'm happy."</p><p>In addition to her decorated professional career, she helped UConn capture three straight NCAA championships from 2002-04 and won MOP in her last two years with the Huskies.</p><p>Taurasi also won six EuroLeague championships between 2007 and 2016 with Russian clubs Spartak Moscow and UMMC Ekaterinburg, as well as a Turkish League title in 2011.</p><p>"My scoring record, or the six gold medals, someone's going to come around that has the same hunger, the same addiction to basketball, and put those records in a different way, a different name." Taurasi said. "That's what sports is all about. That's going to be fun to watch. Hopefully not soon."</p>

However, the team was rarely competitive - Washington went 15-67 last campaign.</p><p>"I wouldn't trade this experience and being here and being a Wizard for anything," Kuzma said. "I think it was a great time for me, a time of growth, a time of figuring out who I am as a person. That's something that I, obviously, didn't really know too much when I was younger in L.A. Being here and being much more calm here, (this is) a place where you can kind of figure those type(s) of things out, grow as a man, become a man. I tightened up on being a pro. This experience for the last three-and-a-half years was everything for me."</p><p>Kuzma led the Bucks in scoring against the Wizards, recording 19 points, eight rebounds, and five assists.</p><p>In six games with the Bucks, Kuzma is averaging 16.2 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 2.7 assists. Milwaukee is 4-2 since acquiring the former championship-winning forward. </p>

"It sucks. ... I probably need to fix the problem, and then I'll be back at that level. "Still managing it. Got to keep going and hope for the best."</p><p>Embiid recorded 15 points on 3-of-9 shooting, along with four assists and three rebounds. He was a minus-20 in 27 minutes of action - no Sixers starter recorded a better plus-minus than minus-15.</p><p>The 30-year-old has played 18 games this season, averaging 24.3 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 4.4 assists. He's suited up for at least three consecutive contests on three occasions this campaign.</p><p>"I'm not as dominant as I was a couple of months ago, but that doesn't mean I still can't have a lot of impact on the game," Embiid said. "Just me being out there, I think, helps a lot. My presence, my ability to attract double-teams, get guys more shots."</p><p>The Sixers rank 11th in the East with a 20-35 record, 1.5 games behind the Chicago Bulls for the last play-in tournament spot in the conference. They take on the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday.</p>

<p>San Antonio Spurs All-Star <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/110276" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/110276">Victor Wembanyama</a> is expected to miss the rest of the season after being diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis in his right shoulder, the team announced Thursday.</p><p>The condition was discovered when Wembanyama arrived back in San Antonio after All-Star Weekend in San Francisco, the team said. The Spurs were concerned because the 21-year-old had been experiencing low energy recently, a source told <a href="https://x.com/sam_amick/status/1892638187018977655">The Athletic's Sam Amick</a>.</p><p>Wembanyama, the favorite for Defensive Player of the Year, averaged 24.3 points, 11 rebounds, and 3.7 assists in 46 games this season. He's led the league in blocks in back-to-back years, recording 3.6 and 3.8 per game, respectively.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>The Spurs believe the blood clot is an "isolated condition," reports <a href="https://x.com/ShamsCharania/status/1892632494475710582">ESPN's Shams Charania</a>. They are optimistic that Wembanyama will recover fully in time for next season, a team source told <a href="https://x.com/espn_macmahon/status/1892635236023841212">ESPN's Tim MacMahon</a>.</p><p>Spurs officials delivered the news to players in a meeting before shootaround, veteran <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/314" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/314">Chris Paul</a> told <a href="https://x.com/tom_orsborn/status/1892647408892334383">Tom Orsborn of the San Antonio Express-News</a>.</p><p>"It was tough more than anything, I think, for all of us, knowing how much he means to the game and how much he loves to play," Paul said.</p><p>The Frenchman won Rookie of the Year last campaign, averaging 21.4 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 3.9 assists. </p><p>San Antonio is already without head coach Gregg Popovich, who suffered a mild stroke in November. The 76-year-old has been recovering away from the team. </p><p>The Spurs are 12th in the Western Conference with a 23-29 record. They take on the Phoenix Suns later Thursday.</p>

They lost back-to-back first round series, and Antetokounmpo missed all of the 2024 postseason due to a calf injury.</p><p>Antetokounmpo said in 2023 that he would leave the Bucks if there was a "better situation" for him to win another title.</p><p>The forward signed a three-year, $175.4-million extension in 2023. He holds a $62.8-million player option for the 2027-28 season.</p>

Doncic inbounded the ball to the NBA icon on the final possession.</p><p>"He had it going, so obviously we're going to go to him," Doncic said, according to <a href="https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/43931245/lakers-lebron-james-luka-doncic-say-clutch-roles-go-ways">ESPN's Dave McMenamin</a>. The duo appeared in two contests against the Utah Jazz before the All-Star break. In 61 minutes, they have a 12.6 net rating, according to <a href="https://www.nba.com/stats/lineups/advanced?slug=advanced&amp;GroupQuantity=2&amp;TeamID=1610612747">NBA.com</a>.</p><p>Doncic recorded 14 points, 11 rebounds, and eight assists in the defeat. He's returning to form after missing time with a calf injury.</p><p>"Obviously, it's going to take a little time," Doncic said. "Today, a lot of rustiness for my part. Started the game with like four or five turnovers. That can't happen. So just got to play basketball the right way."</p><p>The Lakers rank fifth in the Western Conference with a 32-21 record. They face the Portland Trail Blazers on the second night of a back-to-back Thursday.</p>

<p>Dallas Mavericks governor Patrick Dumont's first public comments about the blockbuster <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/68198" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/68198">Luka Doncic</a> trade provide some insight into why the franchise changed course and parted ways with the star.</p><p>"If you look at the greats in the league, the people you and I grew up with — (Michael) Jordan, (Larry) Bird, Kobe (Bryant), Shaq (O'Neal) — they worked really hard, every day, with a singular focus to win," Dumont said, according to <a href="https://www.dallasnews.com/sports/mavericks/2025/02/09/mavericks-governor-patrick-dumont-makes-first-public-comments-after-luka-doncic-trade/">Brad Townsend of The Dallas Morning News</a>. "And if you don't have that, it doesn't work. And if you don’t have that, you shouldn't be part of the Dallas Mavericks.</p><p>"That's who we want. I'm unwavering on this. The entire organization knows this. This is how I operate outside of basketball. This is the only way to be competitive and win. If you want to take a vacation, don't do it with us."</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>Dumont added his perspective on how teams are able to compete for championships.</p><p>"In my mind, the way teams win is by focus, by having the right character, by having the right culture, and having the right dedication to work as hard as possible to create a championship-winning outcome. And if you're not doing that, you're going to lose," he said.</p><p>The Mavericks reportedly had concerns with Doncic's conditioning, along with unease about giving him a super-max contract, which led the franchise to trade him to the Los Angeles Lakers earlier in February. Dallas acquired <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/11373" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/11373">Anthony Davis</a>, <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/102775" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/102775">Max Christie</a> and a 2029 first-round pick for the 25-year-old.</p><p>Dumont said he sympathizes with all the fans who are hurt from the trade and considers Doncic a "Mav for life."</p><p>"I'm a big Luka fan. My family are big Luka fans. I have a really deep appreciation for what he brought to this team, what he brought to Dallas, and the excitement he brings. He's an electrifying player," said Dumont, who is the son-in-law of Mavericks majority owner Miriam Adelson.</p>
