Nikola Jokic has remained in his native Serbia after reportedly testing positive for the coronavirus, but Denver Nuggets head coach Michael Malone is optimistic that the All-Star center will travel with the team to the campus environment at Walt Disney World on July 7.

"The hope and expectation is that Nikola Jokic will be with us on that plane as we head down to Orlando," Malone said Wednesday on a video call with reporters, including Michael Singer of The Denver Post. "From everything I've heard and talked to him, he feels great, he feels fine, and is excited to get back."

Malone also confirmed the Nuggets have closed down their practice facility due to "multiple" positive tests for COVID-19, but he didn't identify the individuals who tested positive, according to ESPN's Ohm Youngmisuk.

Denver's bench boss said the Nuggets are consulting with health experts to determine if the club can reopen its practice facility before departing for Orlando, according to The Athletic's Kendra Andrews.

Malone experienced COVID-19 symptoms in March but wasn't aware he had the illness until undergoing an antibody test months later.
