The Los Angeles Dodgers' quest for a third straight World Series title will continue after they eliminated the Atlanta Braves with a 4-1 win in Game 4 of the NLDS on Wednesday.
Andy Pages drove in the game-winning run with a two-RBI single in the seventh inning after the Dodgers loaded the bases against Tyler Mahle and Didier Fuentes.
"I think from the beginning of the series I was looking for a moment like that," Pages told Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports after the win. "You try to get a good pitch and swing at a good pitch, and I was lucky to do that."
Max Muncy crushed a 104-mph home run in the ninth to extend the Dodgers' lead, marking the 36-year-old's 19th career postseason homer.
Alex Vesia, Edgardo Henriquez, Tanner Scott, and Edwin Díaz combined to allow no runs on two hits after Dodgers starter Tyler Glasnow walked five in 4 2/3 innings.
Mahle took the loss for the Braves despite a strong effort, allowing one earned run in 6 1/3 innings. Atlanta was 0-for-7 with runners in scoring position.
"You know, personally, I had some spots that I could have come through in and didn't," Matt Olson said after going 3-for-19 with one RBI in the series, according to Chad Bishop of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
"Those things are always going to stick with you."
The Dodgers are enjoying their 14th straight postseason run, a stretch that's included five World Series appearances and three championships.
"We talked about this, there is no more talented team than the Los Angeles Dodgers. It's the best organization in sports, top to bottom," Roberts said in the clubhouse following the win.
"We're smarter, we're better, and we're tougher."
Los Angeles will face either the Milwaukee Brewers or the San Diego Padres in the National League Championship Series starting Sunday.
The Braves haven't advanced past the division series since winning the World Series in 2021.
