In April 2024, he exchanged words with a Cleveland Guardians fan who made an inappropriate comment referencing Duran's disclosure of a suicide attempt, which he shared in a documentary about the Red Sox.</p><p>"Honestly, it's my fault for talking about my mental health," Duran said. "I kind of brought in the haters. So just something I've got to get used to."</p><p>MLB also suspended the 29-year-old for two games after he directed a homophobic slur at a fan during a game between the Red Sox and Houston Astros in 2024.</p><p>After Tuesday's game, Duran admitted that he should have handled the situation at Target Field differently.</p><p>"I didn't really tell anybody (on the team), so that's on me. Just trying to hold it in, not really bring that up to the team," he said. "I mean, we're trying to win a game. I shouldn't even bring that up to anybody. It's not really something where I want to be like, bro, you should have heard what this guy said to me. That's not the most important thing. The most important thing is winning the game, and it just happens."</p><p> </p>

"Baseball and outside of baseball. That's probably the reason (for his arm fatigue)."</p><p>Imai left his most recent start against the Seattle Mariners on Friday after walking four and allowing three earned runs in 1/3 of an inning. He underwent imaging following the outing, and manager Joe Espada said that the tests revealed no problems.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>Espada added that Imai won't resume throwing until his arm strength improves. In the meantime, Imai acknowledged that he has other issues to figure out.</p><p>"For example, the travel is different from Japan,” Imai explained through his interpreter. "The timing when the players eat. In Japan, when they get back to the hotel, they eat their dinner. Here, the players eat at the stadium.</p><p>"He thought it would be the same as in Japan, for example, eating dinner at the hotel. He thinks, even though he's on the IL right now, he thinks it's a positive thing to try and adjust and try to become better."</p><p>Imai signed a three-year, $54-million contract with the Astros in the offseason.</p>

<p>Baltimore Orioles shortstop <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///mlb/players/12258" href="https://thescore.com/mlb/players/12258">Gunnar Henderson</a> would consider becoming the next player to ink an extension with the club after teammates <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///mlb/players/12302" href="https://thescore.com/mlb/players/12302">Shane Baz</a> and <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///mlb/players/17667" href="https://thescore.com/mlb/players/17667">Samuel Basallo</a> signed long term.</p><p>"Any time they want to come my way, I'm open ears," the 24-year-old said Saturday, according to <a href="https://x.com/afkostka/status/2037925890063994913">Andy Kostka of The Baltimore Banner</a>.</p><p>"But also my first priority right now is to win ballgames and do whatever I can to bring a championship to the Orioles.
