Crochet on Red Sox roster for wild-card series

Boston Red Sox star left-hander Garrett Crochet is on the club's wild-card roster against the New York Yankees, the team announced Tuesday.

Crochet, who hasn't pitched since late April due to a shoulder injury, is expected to have a relief role in the playoffs.

The 27-year-old authored a 6.30 ERA with 1.47 WHIP and 11.1 K/9 over 30 innings (six starts) before being sidelined.

Crochet posted a 2.59 ERA with 2.89 FIP and an MLB-leading 255 strikeouts over a career-high 205 1/3 innings (32 starts) in 2025.

Game 1 of the series starts Tuesday in New York.
