Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Trey Yesavage is ready for his next outing to be with the big-league team after his knee felt good during a Triple-A rehab start on Tuesday.
"It's up to people that are higher up than me and make decisions," Yesavage said, according to Sportsnet's Shi Davidi. "But I think I'm ready to go and take some stress off the bullpen."
Yesavage averaged 93 mph on his fastball in Tuesday's 34-pitch outing. He's expected to fill a multi-inning bullpen role when he returns to the Blue Jays.
The 23-year-old underwent surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee on Aug. 11. Prior to the injury, Yesavage owned a 5-5 record with a 3.65 ERA and 8.7 K/9 in 18 starts.
Toronto's bullpen has been taxed lately, with the Blue Jays forced to rely on just three starters due to injuries in the rotation.
