Dodgers clinch playoff spot for 14th straight year to tie MLB record

The Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Cincinnati Reds 4-1 on Monday to punch their postseason ticket.

The defending two-time World Series champions qualified for a 14th consecutive year, tying the Atlanta Braves (1991-2005) for the longest streak in MLB history.

Los Angeles' magic number is down to three in its quest to win a fifth straight NL West title. The team can secure its 13th division title in 14 years as early as Tuesday with another victory against the Reds and back-to-back losses by the San Diego Padres.

Tarik Skubal allowed three hits with one walk and nine strikeouts over seven shutout innings to pick up the win.

Kyle Tucker and Teoscar Hernández went deep to provide the offense.
