Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Trey Yesavage is week-to-week after undergoing surgery to repair the meniscus in his left knee, manager John Schneider said Tuesday, according to Mitch Bannon of The Athletic.

The Blue Jays didn't rule out Yesavage returning later this season.

The 23-year-old rookie injured his knee last Tuesday during a start against the Houston Astros. He was placed on the 15-day injured list Wednesday before seeing a specialist Monday.

Yesavage has authored a 3.65 ERA with 1.14 WHIP and 8.7 K/9 over 93 2/3 innings (18 starts) this season.

He posted a 3.58 ERA with 39 strikeouts across 27 2/3 innings during last year's historic postseason run.
