Brewers' Misiorowski named NL All-Star after 5 MLB outings
Milwaukee Brewers rookie right-hander Jacob Misiorowski was named to the National League All-Star roster, Major League Baseball announced Friday.
Misiorowski replaces Chicago Cubs left-hander Matthew Boyd on the team.
The 23-year-old has made just five starts in the big leagues, but he's dominated opposing clubs during his outings. "The Miz" owns a 4-1 record with a 2.81 ERA and 33 strikeouts in 25 2/3 innings.
"I'm speechless," a teary-eyed Misiorowski told reporters, including MLB.com's Adam McCalvy, after finding out the news.
"It's awesome. It was very unexpected, and it's an honor."
Misiorowski set a new record for fastest rise from MLB debut to All-Star selection, surpassing Paul Skenes' mark of 11 games last season, according to Elias Sports Bureau, per McCalvy.
