MLB awards odds: Who's favored to take home baseball's top honors?
Opening Day is Thursday, kicking off the 2025 regular season for 26 of the league's 30 clubs.
We covered who's favored and who bettors are backing to win the World Series. Now, it's time to see who's most likely to win baseball's most coveted season-long awards.
AL MVP
Player | Odds |
---|---|
Aaron Judge | +300 |
Bobby Witt Jr. | +300 |
Gunnar Henderson | +750 |
Corey Seager | +1300 |
José Ramírez | +1300 |
Yordan Alvarez | +1400 |
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. | +1500 |
Julio Rodríguez | +2000 |
Mike Trout | +2500 |
Rafael Devers | +2500 |
Wyatt Langford | +2500 |
Brent Rooker | +3500 |
Royce Lewis | +4000 |
Aaron Judge and Bobby Witt Jr. are co-favorites to win the American League MVP at +300 (25% implied probability) at theScore Bet/ESPN Bet. Judge was the unanimous winner last year, while Witt received all 30 second-place votes.
However, bettors aren't rushing to back Judge to win back-to-back MVPs, which would also be Judge's third in the past four years. He's received only 4.8% of the handle (money wagered) and 2.7% of the bets placed on the AL MVP market.
Witt, on the other hand, is the go-to selection for the betting market. He's attracted 33% of the handle and 22% of all bets, leading both categories.
Julio Rodríguez has garnered the second-most handle (10.2%) as a long shot at +2000. He finished fourth in AL MVP voting two seasons ago when he hit 32 home runs, drove in 103 runs, and stole 37 bases.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is the second-most bet-on player to win AL MVP as he enters his walk year after failing to reach a contract extension with the Toronto Blue Jays.
NL MVP
Player | Odds |
---|---|
Shohei Ohtani | +145 |
Juan Soto | +550 |
Fernando Tatis Jr. | +900 |
Mookie Betts | +1200 |
Kyle Tucker | +1600 |
Bryce Harper | +1800 |
Elly De La Cruz | +1800 |
Ronald Acuña Jr. | +1800 |
Francisco Lindor | +2000 |

Jackson Chourio | +4000 |
Ketel Marte | +4000 |
Matt Olson | +4000 |
Paul Skenes | +4000 |
Pete Alonso | +4000 |
Shohei Ohtani is the clear favorite to repeat as National League MVP. He won the award without throwing a pitch in his first year with the Los Angeles Dodgers. He's expected to return to the mound sometime in the first half of the season.
Ohtani is looking to win his third straight MVP and fourth in the last five years. If he can pull off the feat, Ohtani would become the first to win three consecutive MVPs since Barry Bonds won four straight from 2001 to 2004.
But just like the AL, bettors aren't backing the favorite in the NL. Ohtani ranks outside the top 10 in handle and bet count.
Elly De La Cruz is getting the most love, attracting 26.1% of the handle and 26.3% of the bets on the NL MVP market. The Cincinnati Reds infielder was eighth in MVP voting last year in his first full big-league season.
Bryce Harper, a two-time NL MVP winner, has received the second-most handle and third-most bets at a generous +1800.

Kevin Gausman | +3000 |
Seth Lugo | +3000 |
Tarik Skubal, the 2024 Cy Young winner, is the favorite to repeat as the league's top pitcher with an implied probability of 21.7%. He would be the first to win back-to-back AL Cy Youngs since Pedro Martinez (1999-2000).
Garrett Crochet is the second favorite and has attracted 27.2% of the handle placed on the market. The Boston Red Sox acquired Crochet in an offseason trade with the Chicago White Sox.

Zack Wheeler | +650 |

Chris Sale | +1000 |
Corbin Burnes | +1400 |
Sandy Alcantara | +1800 |

Yoshinobu Yamamoto | +2000 |

Justin Steele | +2500 |
Logan Webb | +2500 |
Michael King | +2500 |
Shohei Ohtani | +2500 |
Tyler Glasnow | +2500 |
Paul Skenes is the only favorite for a major award who's also receiving the most love from the betting market. The 2024 NL Rookie of the Year is +250 with an implied probability of 28.6% to win the award, and 20.8% of the handle is on him to do so. Last season, the Pittsburgh Pirates flamethrower was the National League's starter in the All-Star Game and finished third in Cy Young voting.
Zack Wheeler and Cristopher Sánchez are the next-most bet-on pitchers, while last year's Cy Young winner, Chris Sale, isn't in the top 10 in handle.

New York Yankees outfielder Jasson Domínguez is the favorite to win the award. He has played 26 MLB games and hit six homers across two seasons, and he's projected to hit seventh in the Yankees' stout lineup.
Detroit Tigers pitcher Jackson Jobe has received the most handle (15.3%) and most bets (19.1%). Tomoyuki Sugano, whose odds are +3000, is the second-most bet-on rookie. The 35-year-old signed a one-year deal with the Baltimore Orioles after spending 12 years with the Yomiuri Giants in Japan.
