Report: Dodgers bring in stars for 2nd meeting with Sasaki
The Los Angeles Dodgers are bringing out the big guns to sign Japanese star Roki Sasaki.
The Dodgers' second meeting with Sasaki and his representatives will feature several of the World Series championship team's star players, sources told Fabian Ardaya and Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.
After narrowing his options to three finalists, Sasaki is reportedly deciding between signing with the Dodgers, San Diego Padres, and Toronto Blue Jays. The 23-year-old is eligible to ink a contract beginning Wednesday and must decide on a new team by the end of his posting window on Jan. 23.
Sasaki recently completed city tours of San Diego and Toronto, Ardaya and Rosenthal report.
The former Chiba Lotte Marines star is moving to North America after a terrific four-season stint in Japan's top professional league. Sasaki owns a career 2.10 ERA with 11.5 K/9 across 64 appearances.
