The Martian's return has hit a speed bump.
New York Yankees outfielder Jasson Domínguez will be sidelined eight weeks with a "pretty significant" oblique strain, manager Aaron Boone announced Thursday, according to Pete Caldera of the Bergen Record.
Domínguez was placed on the seven-day injured list by Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Sunday with what was initially diagnosed as a moderate strain.
The 21-year-old had been rehabbing in the minors after undergoing Tommy John surgery last September. He hit .356/.404/.609 with six home runs and 13 RBIs in 23 minor-league games before hurting his oblique.
Prior to injuring his elbow last season, Domínguez posted a .980 OPS with four home runs in eight games after making his major-league debut.
He's the Yankees' top prospect and ranked 30th overall by MLB Pipeline.
