Mike Trout checked in with MLB Network on what would have been Opening Day and told Harold Reynolds how he's filling time while waiting for sports to resume.

The Los Angeles Angels superstar and three-time MVP told Reynolds that he and teammate Albert Pujols are still working out daily. Trout said he and Pujols still practice social distancing, though, adding that he stays 6 feet away from the fellow three-time MVP.

While Trout believes he could be ready to play as soon as the pandemic subsides, he wasn't so sure about pitcher readiness.

"We're going to need four-to-six weeks for these pitchers to get back in order," the eight-time All-Star said. "Position players, it's not that difficult. Pitchers, they're going to have a tough time with this, especially starters."

When Reynolds asked about a three-week spring training, Trout responded, "Easy. ... I would say four. You know? You gotta talk to these pitchers. I could be ready in a couple days, but these pitchers are going to need time to throw."

The Angels were set to embark on a promising 2020 campaign after an offseason where the club added third baseman Anthony Rendon.

It is unclear when the MLB season will get underway or if 162 games will be played. The league has already acknowledged that the sport will not resume until at least mid-May.
