Philadelphia Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto lost his arbitration case against the team, a source told Mark Feinsand of MLB.com.

Realmuto will earn $10 million in 2020, according to Feinsand, which is still an arbitration record for a catcher. The backstop was reportedly seeking a $12.4-million salary.

The 28-year-old accrued an .820 OPS with 25 home runs and 83 RBIs in 145 contests for the Phillies last season. His 5.7 WAR was tops for his position in 2019, according to FanGraphs.

The two-time All-Star is scheduled to become a free agent following the upcoming campaign.
