The Pittsburgh Penguins re-signed restricted free-agent forward Ville Koivunen to an eight-year, $32-million contract, the club announced Thursday.
Koivunen's new deal runs through the 2033-34 season.

The 23-year-old recorded two goals and five assists across 39 games last season. He also collected 13 goals and 28 assists for 41 points over 34 AHL contests en route to helping the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins reach the conference finals of the Calder Cup playoffs.
Pittsburgh acquired Koivunen from the Carolina Hurricanes in March 2024 as part of the Jake Guentzel blockbuster trade. Carolina selected him in the second round of the 2021 draft.
