Prime Video will broadcast three Stanley Cup Playoffs series in Canada - two in the first round, one in the second - as part of a 12-year sublicensing agreement with Rogers announced Tuesday.
The streaming platform also gets Wednesday night regular-season national games in Canada, both in English and French.
"Over the past two years, Prime Video has been a valuable addition to the NHL's media lineup in Canada, joining Rogers in bringing marquee NHL games to Canadian fans," NHL commissioner Gary Bettman said in a statement. "We're excited that Prime Video and Rogers are deepening their relationship through this long-term agreement, reflecting our shared commitment to serving English- and French-language hockey fans across Canada with premium NHL content for years to come."
Sportsnet and Prime Video will conduct a "draft" to decide which platform broadcasts which series before each round, Sportsnet told theScore.
Before the first round, Sportsnet will pick three series, then Prime Video will choose two, with Sportsnet also broadcasting the remaining three. Another "draft" will occur prior to the second round. Sportsnet will select two series, and then Prime Video will choose between the remaining two. The unselected series will also be aired by Sportsnet.
Prime Video broadcasted Monday night regular-season national games in Canada for the last two seasons. The two-year agreement made in 2024 was the NHL's first exclusive broadcast package with a digital-only streaming service in Canada.
Details of Prime Video's talent and production for the upcoming season will be announced at a later date.
In 2025, Rogers and the NHL announced a 12-year agreement for Canadian national rights that runs from 2026-27 through 2037-38.
The NHL season begins Sept. 29, with the first Wednesday night NHL on Prime broadcast scheduled for the following day.
