The Dallas Stars traded forward Mavrik Bourque and defenseman Ilya Lyubushkin to the Nashville Predators in exchange for a 2027 second-round pick and a 2028 third-round pick, the teams announced.

Bourque, 24, is slated to hit restricted free agency Wednesday and is under team control until 2029.

The Predators are working toward an extension with Bourque, who was seen as an offer-sheet candidate, Sportsnet's Chris Johnston reports.

Bourque scored 20 goals and added 21 assists over 82 games for the Stars last season.

The second-rounder is the Predators' pick, while the third-round selection originally belonged to the Vegas Golden Knights.
