The Vegas Golden Knights were unsuccessful in their appeal to the NHL on Tuesday for violating media regulations, reports ESPN's Emily Kaplan.
The penalties against the Golden Knights - forfeiture of a 2026 second-round pick and a $100,000 fine for head coach John Tortorella - will remain.
The Golden Knights failed to open their dressing room to reporters and Tortorella declined to speak to the media following the team's series-clinching win over the Anaheim Ducks in Game 6 on Thursday. Both actions violate the NHL/NHLPA collective bargaining agreement.
Mitch Marner, Brett Howden, and Shea Theodore were the only players made available to speak postgame. Marner and Howden appeared rushed to complete their media obligations.
"We have a bus in 10 (minutes) that Torts will leave us on," Marner said.

The club had received previous warnings about "compliance with the media regulations and other associated policies," the NHL said.
