The Calgary Flames landed one of the most sought-after 2026 college free agents in St. Cloud State forward Tyson Gross, the team announced Thursday.
Gross inked a two-year, two-way contract with an average annual value of $975K at the NHL level.
Gross racked up 18 goals and 23 assists in 36 games this season, and his 41 points ranked 16th in the nation. He's finalist for NCHC Player of the Year, Forward of the Year, and Defensive Forward of the Year.
The 23-year-old is a 6-foot-3 right-shot center who served as captain for the Huskies in 2025-26. He tallied 86 points over 106 games during his NCAA career.
Gross, a Calgary native, will make his NHL debut before the end of the season, according to Sportsnet's Eric Francis.
