Leafs' Stolarz backs up Woll in Game 7
Toronto Maple Leafs netminder Anthony Stolarz backed up Joseph Woll in Game 7 against the Florida Panthers.
Stolarz hadn't dressed since suffering an injury in Game 1 of the series when he took an elbow to the head from Panthers forward Sam Bennett and was taken to the hospital. Bennett wasn't penalized and didn't receive any supplemental discipline.
Matt Murray or Dennis Hildeby served as Woll's backup from Games 2-6.
Stolarz led all NHL goalies with a .926 save percentage in 34 regular-season games. He posted a .901 save percentage in seven playoff starts before the injury.
Woll entered Game 7 with an .893 save percentage in six appearances this postseason. However, he's coming off a 22-save shutout in Game 6 and is 4-1 with a sparkling .957 save percentage in his playoff career in elimination games.
